Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historic Park Announces 2023-2024 Winter Hours

Dayton, Ohio – Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historic Park will temporarily close the Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center beginning on November 15, 2023. While the interior park facilities will be closed, the grounds of the Wright Memorial and the Huffman Prairie Flying Field will remain open to the public dawn to dusk. The visitor center will open temporarily in support of the US Air Force First Flight Ceremony on December 15, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The Wright-Dunbar Interpretive Center and Wright Cycle Shop will remain open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and the Paul Laurence Dunbar House will be open Friday - Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Ranger-led tours and scheduled throughout the day at both sites. All Dayton History sites will remain open during this time and hours information can be found at www.daytonhistory.org.

The Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center will reopen on March 1, 2024.

A unit of the National Park Service, Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park tells the story of three individuals important to world history, poet and author Paul Laurence Dunbar, and aviators Wilbur and Orville Wright. The park consists of six locations and offers guided tours of several historic structures, museum exhibits, and two introductory films.
