One of the many forts of the Civil War Defenses of Washington located in Virginia. Fort Marcy was strategically placed near the Leesburg Turnpike and Chain Bridge. The Union deemed this bridgehead vital to furthering their activities in the northern Virginia and worthy of protection.Come join a presentation about Fort Marcy.
