Buffalo Soldiers in the 1920s

After the end of World War One the U.S. Army including the Buffalo Soldiers shrunk in size. The authorized strength of the entire army was set at 300,000. Most of the decade was spent at installations stateside. During this time pay was low, morale dwindled, out-of-date equipment went unused.
