Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park announces tenth annual Life and Death on the C & O Canal special event.

On Saturday, October 21, 2006, join costumed park rangers and volunteers for a one hour guided tour to witness historic vignettes of strife and death that occurred during the canal’s history. Visitors can learn about the struggles, accidents, epidemics and the American Civil War that plagued the men and women who lived and labored along the canal. Tours start promptly at 6:30 p.m. and continue every 15 minutes thereafter. Last tour is at 9:00 p.m. Parental discretion is advised.

Reservations are required for the event and will be taken starting on Sunday, October 1st at 9:00 a.m. Payment is required at the time of the reservation. Cost is $6.00 for adults, ages 14-61, $4.00 for seniors 62 and older, and for children 4-14. Children 3 and under are free. Call 301-767-3714 to make reservations.
