Hagerstown. MD. -- C&O Canal will be putting the park wells back in service starting April 13, 2007, park Superintendent Kevin Brandt announced today. "The park staff will test each well and put each back in service once two successive samples test safe" Brandt said. The wells are located at hiker biker campsites and at most developed areas in the park. They are tested every two weeks to ensure that the water from these wells is safe to drink. Wells that test unsafe are disabled until they test safe twice. "Visitors should still carry enough water for their day's visit in case one of the wells they had planned to use has been disabled" Brandt said. -NPS-
