Fort Oglethorpe, GA: The National Park Service is proposing to revise the Fire Management Plan for Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, located in Georgia and Tennessee.Park staff is considering the use of prescribed fire as a possible tool to maintain cultural landscapes, to reduce fuel loads, and to help manage invasive, exotic plants. Also, an environmental assessment is being conducted to analyze the effects of this proposed action on the human environment and to provide an opportunity for public input in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA). If you would like to review the public scoping brochure, it is available online at www.nps.gov/chch, or you may request a hard copy of the brochure by contacting Chief Ranger Todd Roeder. Comments on the Fire Management Plan may also be submitted until February 11, 2016.
