Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park and Friends of Moccasin Bend Announce Construction of Orientation Plaza and Park Trails at Moccasin Bend
On July 22, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke announced that the National Park Service is teaming up with partners across the nation to distribute more than $50 million in high priority maintenance and infrastructure projects at 42 parks in 29 states, including $143,733 at Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park to construct an orientation plaza and park trails at Moccasin Bend National Archeological Distric. The funding for Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will be matched with $287,546 from the Friends of Moccasin Bend.

“Our Hearts are Sickened” John Ross Fights for His People
On Saturday, August 12, at 2 pm, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will provide a 45 minute program exploring Principal Chief John Ross’s struggle to keep the Cherokee Nation’s ancestral homeland within its control. This program will be conducted in partnership with the Chief John Ross House Association and will take place at the Ross House

Congressionally Mandated Senior Pass Price Increase to Take Effect on August 28
In order to meet requirements set by legislation passed by Congress in December 2016, the price of the America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass will increase from $10 to $80. The change will take effect August 28, 2017.

Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park and Outdoor Chattanooga are joining forces once again to offer a series of free, monthly historical bike tours through Chickamauga Battlefield.
