Become a Junior Ranger

The Junior Ranger program has been in use throughout the National Park System for more than two decades. Most of the 424 National Park Service units across America offer the program, and Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park is one of them. Each park has its own Junior Ranger program, with a variety of activities in each.

Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park's Junior Ranger Adventure is available by requesting a copy or by picking up a copy at either the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center or the Lookout Mountain Battlefield Visitor Center.

The park's Junior Ranger Adventure is designed in a way so kids can choose various activities to complete based upon their ages (instructions are located on page 3). The book's activies encompass all units of the national military park and afford the opportunity for kids to learn important information associated with each one.

Once complete, potential Junior Rangers are asked to return the book to one of the park's visitor centers in order to receive his or her Junior Ranger badge.

Periodically, the park hosts special youth events where kids can earn a special Junior Ranger badge through special hands-on programs.
