Join the National Park Service in making America’s Best Idea – the National Parks – even better. On Saturday September 26, 2009, National Public Lands Day, the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area in cooperation with the National Park Foundation and Take Pride in America, will begin trail improvements at the Vickery Creek unit.

The plan is to have several small trail projects that can be completed the same day. There will be a lunch provided to participants at Island Ford unit (Park Headquarters) following the work project. As part of the festivities, the park will offer a sneak preview of Ken Burns’s new documentary The National Parks: America’s Best Idea premiering on PBS September 27. For further information or to register please contact the park at 678-538-1200.
