Come celebrate health and vitality at the 4th Annual Chattahoochee River Summer Festival August 26 and 27.

The fun will begin Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the ChattahoocheeRiverEnvironmentalEducationCenter in Alpharetta. Among the sites and sounds will be local performers and storytellers to entertain, businesses and organizations to educate and plenty of opportunities to recreate.

People of all ages can enjoy live wildlife programs, educational exhibits, live music, guided tree climbing with Genevieve Summers of Dancing With Trees, and canoeing and kayaking on River Glen Pond.  Native American demonstrations will be held by Kris Kelly and Diamond Brown and the artistic work of blacksmith Michael Leggett will be on display.

Children will especially enjoy live storytelling, “Spirit Rock” painting, face painting, marshmallow roasting and an array of crafts and recreational activities.  Hike on a fitness trail and receive a free festival T-shirt!

A variety of items will be for sale including:  children’s activity books, photographs by artists Tom Wilson and Dell Pamplin, recreational equipment and fantastic food.

Parking will be available at Barnwell Elementary School on Barnwell Road with a free shuttle to the festival location. For more information call 678-538-1200.
