Chamizal National Memorial is pleased to announce thatapplications for Commercial Use Authorizations will be accepted December 2, 2013 through January 7, 2014 from local business owners wishing to be considered for the opportunity to provide food and beverage services at special events scheduled at the Memorial during 2014-2015. The majority of these regularly scheduled annual events usually take place on Sundays from mid-June through mid-August. However, there may be additional days and special events scheduled outside that period when we may invite the selected authorized vendors to participate. The Memorial is interested in theme-related food and beverage items to complement occasional specific events at various times throughout the year. There are enough electrical spaces available to accommodate a maximum of eight vendors operating at any event. We will make selections based on providing a variety of options for our visitors and community members attending these events. An historical five-year average of annual gross receipts from vendors providing these services at Chamizal National Memorial has been approximately $10,500 per vendor. However, the possibility does exist that a different food and beverage selection may generate additional revenue in the future. A Commercial Use Authorization (CUA) is required to provide food and beverage services at Chamizal National Memorial. A non-refundable application processing fee of $50 (check or money order) must accompany each application. Upon selection, there is an additional permit monitoring fee of $250 that will be due. Commercial Use Authorization request packages are available now and must be returned no later than January 7, 2014. Applications may be downloaded from our website at https://www.nps.gov/cham/planyourvisit/permits.htm. Completed applications can either be mailed or hand-delivered, but must be received by close of business on January 7, 2014. Please note that the Memorial is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Days. |
