Chamizal National Memorial, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) United States-Mexico Border Office, and Ecoclub "El Chamizal" representatives are pleased to announce an upcoming ceremony during which each organization will sign the first Memorandum of Understanding of its kind between the National Park Service and PAHO. The purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding is to formalize this partnership which furthers the common goals of each organization to engage children and youth in leadership and teamwork activities and environmental awareness programs that encourage healthy, active lifestyles while connecting local communities to their natural and cultural heritage as part of the First Lady's "Let's Move Outside" Initiative.
The ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 10 a.m. on the Esplanade outside the Visitor Center between the flags of the United States and Mexico. The public and the media are invited to witness the signing ceremony, which will be followed immediately by light refreshments.
