Superintendent F. Gus Sanchez reminds those planning to visit Chamizal National Memorial in the coming months of our summer alcohol ban. The ban is in effect from June 1 – August 31 of each year, traditionally our hottest months in the northern Chihuahuan Desert, for visitor safety and to promote family-oriented park experiences. For these reasons, no outside alcohol is permitted on the Memorial grounds at any time during these months; during Music Under the Stars concerts in July, it will be available for purchase from the vendor operating under a park permit.
