Due to increased security measures, portions of Catoctin Mountain Park will be closed effective Friday, September 19, 2014 at approximately 3:00 PM. Closures are scheduled to continue through Sunday, September 21, 2014 at approximately 3:00 PM. Park Central Road is closed between the Camp Misty Mount Entrance and Hikers may access trails to Thurmont Vista, Wolf Rock, and Chimney Rock as well as the Falls Nature Trail from the Visitor Center Trailheads. The Catoctin National Recreation Trail will be open.Trails to Blue Ridge Summit Overlook and Hog Rock are not available during this closure.Manahan Road and trails east of Manahan Road are available for use. Picnickers may use Chestnut Picnic Area.
