The Resource Education Staff will continue to explore alternative methods of providing information through the use of technology when the Visitor Center is closed. Podcasts, maps and news releases will be posted on the park website at www.nps.gov/cato. Information obtainable on the park website, social media, wayside exhibits on interpretive trails and from bulletin boards at the Visitor Center will offer functional alternatives for visitors impacted by the Visitor Center closure. Catoctin Mountain Park is one of over 400 units administered by the National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior. The park Visitor Center, located on State Route 77 three miles west of Thurmont, Maryland, is open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. daily with the exception of Wednesdays when the office is closed.
