National Park Fee Free Days
There are several days each year that are fee free across the National Park Service. The days in 2022 are listed below. Please check operating status at this park and others before traveling as there may be changes due to Covid-19.
Monthly Writing WorkshopsJoin writers and poets from across the country each month for a virtual writing workshop. A link will be added to their name when more details and sign-up information becomes available. These workshops are geared towards amateur writers, ages 16 and older recommended. A Capella singers, “The Blissing Trio” will share holiday music at 10am, followed by a ranger cooking demonstration at 11am.
December 7 (Tuesday)
poet and educator Kimberly Simms will lead a virtual workshop “Cooking up Poetry: Writing Recipe Poems,” from 7:00 – 9:00 pm ET. Kimberly will lead attendees in writing their own “recipe” style poems. Attendees will also discuss several sample poems to help them explore ideas about food and life. The workshop includes a structured poetic form and a craft lesson so that writers of any level can participate. The workshop will finish with time for sharing and discussion. Sign up here.

A Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra string quartet plays traditional holiday and Carolina inspired arrangements at 10am, followed by a ranger craft demonstration at 11am.

Hendersonville Storyteller, Ronnie Pepper, shares stories from around the world at 10am, followed by a ranger writing activity at 11am.
