Cape Krusenstern Subsistence Resource Commission to Meet March 18 and 19th.

KOTZEBUE, AK – The National Park Service will hold the spring Subsistence Resource Commission (SRC) meetings for Cape Krusentern National Monument. The meetings will be held March 18-19, 2024 and will be open to the public. SRCs were established to ensure local voices and perspectives are included in the management and regulatory process regarding subsistence. The Cape Krusenstern and Kobuk Valley SRCs meet twice annually.

The meeting will be held at the National Park Service’s Northwest Arctic Heritage Center, 171 Third Avenue. It will begin at 1:00PM on Monday March 18, and is scheduled to adjourn for the day at 5:00PM. The meeting will resume on Tuesday March 19, at 9:00AM and it will conclude at 12:00PM. Topics to be covered include reports from the nine-member commission on subsistence issues and concerns, updates from NPS staff, management issues, wildlife research and monitoring activities, and Federal Wildlife Regulations.
