Name: Nuray Taygan Official Title: North District Lead Shorebird Biological Technician Phone: 508 487 3262 x 0523 Email: Nuray_Taygan@nps.gov Education: B.A. Anthropology (minor in Psychology), Boston University, 2006 Research Interests and Lab Responsibilities: I am the lead Shorebird Biological Technician for the North District of the park, implementing day-to-day shorebird management and protection operations in the district including: monitoring nesting and reproductive success of piping plovers, least terns, and American oystercatchers, staging and habitat use of migratory shorebirds and seabirds, and data collection/management. A significant part of my job is communicating with park visitors to promote appreciation for shorebirds and beach habitat, and to enhance compliance with protection measures. I also serve as an active member of the interdisciplinary team for developing the park's comprehensive shorebird management plan and associated EA. |
