Buffalo Point Campground remains under an emergency closure due to storm damage that the park sustained on July 21. The Buffalo Point Restaurant and Cabins were open for business as of July 22. All down trees in the vicinity of the restaurant and cabins have been removed and electricity has been restored. Highway 268 is open and clear, however the road leading down into the Buffalo Point Campground remains closed to all traffic. Buffalo Point Campground is expected to reopen on Tuesday, July 24.

Visitors that want to paddle and float the lower section of river are asked to use the Spring Creek, Dillard's Ferry (Highway 14 bridge), and Rush access points. At this time no one is able to put in boats or take them out at Buffalo Point.

The Indian Rockhouse Trail has several trees down on it, but is open for hikers. The Overlook Trail, Campground Trail, and Forest Trail are closed at this time.

At this time phones remain out of service at the Buffalo Point Ranger Station. If there are questions about the closures at Buffalo Point please call the Tyler Bend Visitor Center at 870-439-2502.
