Buffalo National River is now accepting applications for the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC), a summer youth employment program that engages young people in meaningful work experiences on public lands while developing an ethic of stewardship and civic responsibility.
During this 8-week program, YCC members will work on projects that promote awareness and appreciation of the public lands legacy and the nation’s natural, cultural, and historic resources. Youth Conservation Corps workers will assist with a variety of trail and facility maintenance projects at Buffalo National River while networking with peers and National Park Service staff.
“The Youth Conservation Corps program is truly invaluable. It leaves a lasting impression of resource stewardship among tomorrow’s leaders and introduces them to an enriching career path in conservation. The program also helps maintain and improve park trails and facilities that are used frequently by visitors to Buffalo National River,” Superintendent Mark Foust said.
Application deadline is May 1, 2019. More information and application forms are available on the Buffalo National River website at: https://www.nps.gov/buff/getinvolved/workwithus.htm.
