HARRISON, Ark. - The National Park Service (NPS), per 36 CFR § 51.11 has cancelled Solicitation CC-BUFFXXX-25B for a Concession Business Opportunity for Canoe & Kayak Rental with Transportation (Shuttle) Services at Buffalo National River.

36 CFR 51.11 provides that a solicitation may be cancelled prior to award of the concession contract. The cancellation of this solicitation is related to activity around Executive Order 14026, which increases the minimum wage for federal contractors. With concessioners being defined as federal contracts, the minimum franchise fee for this business opportunity needs to be revisited to allow for a reasonable opportunity for profit.

Accordingly, the NPS has determined that cancelling the solicitation is appropriate in the public interest. The NPS anticipates issuing a new prospectus in the last quarter of 2024.
