Group Reservations for April & May 2024

The National Parks of Boston will be taking reservations for groups for the months of April and May of 2024. This is a trial period to see how this system works for both interested parties and park staff. Please read the details below about this new plan of operations thoroughly. If you need help deciding if a reservation is right for you and your group, would like to make a reservation, or have any other questions or concerns, please e-mail us with as much detail about your request as you can provide.

• Reservations for climbing the Bunker Hill Monument are open for the months of April and May 2024 ONLY. The month of June and all months after are closed to groups for the time being.
• Reservations will be on Wednesday and Friday mornings between 10:00 am and 11:00 am.
• Group size is limited to 90 people TOTAL. Only 30 people will be allowed in the monument at one time. Any groups larger than 30 will be split into smaller groups (it will be helpful if leaders do this ahead of time).
• For school, scout, home school, or other groups consisting of mostly young visitors, we require a 10:1 ratio of chaperones to children/students. That is one chaperone to every 10 students/scouts. For example, a group of 30 would be required to have at least 3 chaperones willing to climb to the top of the monument with the students/scouts.
• At this time, we are unable to accommodate any groups larger than 90 people.
• If you have only 20 people or less in your group, you do not need a reservation. You will be able to come to the Bunker Hill Monument as members of the general public. You may want to split into smaller groups for climbing in order to access the monument sooner as it is first-come-first-served for the general public with a capacity limit of 20 people being maintained through a one-in-one-out strategy and there is often a line to get in from May through October and on holiday weekends.

Visitation at Boston National Historical Park can be quite high. Although reservations are not required to visit many of the sites, for groups of 10 or more people they are strongly recommended.
