Junior Ranger Programs Now Available Online!

Explore! Learn! Protect! Become a Junior Ranger at Boston National Historical Park. Opportunities for all ages (even adults) makes becoming a Junior Ranger an experience for the whole family.

The "Liberty" Junior Ranger Activity Book introduces you to the sites along the Freedom Trail® here in Boston. Travel along the sites as you learn about the early stirrings of the American Revolution.

You can get a physical copy of the handbook at either the Boston National Historical Park Visitor Center at Faneuil Hall or at the Charlestown Navy Yard. Complete the checklist and present the handbook to a park ranger in Faneuil Hall, Charlestown Navy Yard Visitor Center, Bunker Hill Monument, or Bunker Hill Museum. A park ranger will award you a Junior Park Ranger badge.

We also have a digital version of the Activity Book available for download below.

Visit Virtually

Most activities in the Junior Ranger book can be completed by reading through the book and visiting the websites of our partners. You can also complete your Ranger guided program by coming along on a virtual tour of the Bunker Hill Monument or learn about the battle with Ranger Patrick.

Don't forget your Virtual Junior Ranger Badge!

After you finish your book, come back to this page and collect your Virtual Junior Ranger Badge. This can be downloaded, printed, and pasted into your Junior Ranger book.

What if I want a regular badge?

Due to limited on-site staff capacity, we do not recommend sending Junior Ranger Books through the mail. Instead, email us and we will try to send you a badge as soon as we can.

Junior Ranger Pledge

Before you say the Junior Ranger pledge, make sure that you have an adult check your book. Once you are ready, raise your right hand and repeat the pledge below:

As a Junior Ranger, I promise to:

  • Protect and preserve both natural and cultural resources for my generation and generations to come.
  • Do my best to keep our environment free from litter and trash.
  • Explore my National Parks and teach others what I have learned.
