Join us at the Blackstone River State Park for free, family-friendly activities in July and August. Drop in and enjoy environmental science and arts activites. Check in at the Kelly House Museum of Transportation from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. No registration is required.

Make photographic-type prints using sun and water. We will try this experiment using local native plants and watch as an image emerges!
July 22: Introduction to Scientific Sketching
Learn to draw the world around you! Scientific sketching is accurate, big, colorful, detailed and explained. Follow some simple steps to sketch a leaf in this style.
July 29: Plants and Prints
Learn about the plants, animals, and other creatures that call Blackstone River State Park home.
During this program, you will learn how to identify some of the invasive species that inhabit the park. There will also be a station to make artistic prints.

Calling all artists! Explore Blackstone River State Park and make your own masterpiece inspired by nature.
During this program, you will learn how to transform rubbings into fantastical landscapes, objects, and creatures.

August 19: Fibonacci Art Project
Discover mathematical beauty in a local pollinator garden!
The Fibonacci sequence is found naturally in plants and animals. Great artists use it in their artwork, and so can you. All materials will be provided for this program.
August 26: Testing Our Water Quality
What are the biggest environmental problem the Blackstone River faces to this day? Learn more about the watershed and take part in some water testing.
