Like all National Park Service sites, Big Thicket National Preserve has a mission, eloquently stated in the Organic Act of 1916 that created the NPS:

"...to conserve the scenery and the natural and historic objects and the wildlife therein and to provide for the enjoyment of the same in such manner and by such means as will leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations."

Public support helps us carry out our goals of preserving the rich diversity of resources found in the Big Thicket and of sharing these resources with the public.

Big Thicket National Preserve accepts donations by check, made payable to "Accounts Receivable" and sent to:

Administrative Officer
Big Thicket National Preserve
6044 FM 420
Kountze, TX, 77625

Donors can indicate on the check whether they would like the donation to benefit a specific program or project, if desired. The full amount of the check will be used to support the preserve; no administrative fees are charged. Please contact us if you have any questions.

A portion of the proceeds from our bookstore sales goes to support our interpretive programs and projects. The bookstore sells a wide variety of educational, recreational, and souvenir items. Call (409) 951-6722 for more information or to place an order by phone.

Thank you for supporting Big Thicket National Preserve!
