Maintenance and repair to Highway 297 in Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area is scheduled to begin Tuesday, July 14, 2020, and conclude on, or before February 2021.
Work includes repair and replacement of drainages, gutters, guardrails, signage, and will include milling and replacement of pavement along the 7-mile corridor between the east and west boundary of the park. The bridge deck on the Cumberland River Bridge will be replaced with a new waterproof membrane.
Work is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday, daylight hours only (weather permitting). Although the road will remain open, expect minimal traffic delays during this time.
