Big South Fork to Observe “Great American Outdoors Day” on August 4

Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area will observe the fourth anniversary of the signing of the Great American Outdoors Act on Sunday, August 4, with 50% off fees at Bandy Creek Pool and backcountry camping permits.

Bandy Creek pool and wading pool are open from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM (ET) on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays through Labor Day. An individual season pass is available for purchase online at https://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/1014029937 or at the campground entrance station for $25.

Enjoy a night under the stars in the backcountry of the Big South Fork by obtaining a backcountry camping permit in person at any contact station or online at https://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/353488124. These permits are good for a stay of up to 14 days.

Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area is commemorating its first 50 years by sharing a year-long celebration in 2024. During this year, the park will celebrate those who have played a role in making this special place what it is today - YOU!
