Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area is pleased to announce it has recently been awarded a grant by Eastern National for the "GO BIG" 2018 Challenge. The GO BIG 2018 Challenge is an all-inclusive, year-long, self-paced, park-wide event designed to encourage visitors to focus on their personal fitness while getting out and exploring Big South Fork NRRA. The challenge encourages participants to earn points by answering questions about the natural and cultural history of the park that will require exploration in search of site-specific information at many different destinations throughout the park. Points are also earned for every mile hiked, biked, paddled, and equestrian ridden.
“The 2016 Centennial Challenge was a successful program that grew tremendously with the GO BIG 2017 Challenge seeing over 250 participants successfully complete. With this grant, we are so excited to be able to offer an even more diverse challenge this year that reaches every visitor coming to our park and introduces them to almost every aspect of Big South Fork NRRA!” says Ranger Mary Grimm.
Eastern National is a not-for-profit cooperating association that supports interpretive, educational, and scientific programs and services of the National Park Service.
