Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area will observe National Park Week from Saturday, April 20-28. The nine-day event will kick off with free backcountry camping permits as well as one night of free camping at Alum Ford Campground on Saturday, April 20.
Each day of National Park Week focuses on the different things that make the parks extraordinary and memorable. From Earth Day to Junior Ranger Day, a moving Naturalization Ceremony, to the 24th annual Spring Planting Festival, there is a lot to experience and enjoy! Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area is commemorating its first 50 years by sharing a year-long celebration in 2024.
