Getting to Big Hole National Battlefield

Big Hole is located on MT Highway 43, 10 miles west of the town of Wisdom in southwestern Montana.

Driving to Big Hole:

• From I-15 at Dillon, MT, take Highway 278 northwest for 65 miles to Wisdom, MT. Turn west on MT Highway 43 and drive west for 10 miles to the battlefield.
• From I-15 at Divide, MT, take Highway 43 west for 62 miles southwest to the battlefield.
• From I-90 at Missoula, MT, take US 93 south for 93 miles through the Bitterroot Valley to Lost Trail Pass. Turn east on MT Highway 43 and drive east 17 miles to the battlefield.
• From Salmon, ID, take US 93 north for 46 miles north to Lost Trail Pass. Turn east on MT Highway 43 and drive east for 17 miles east to the battlefield.
