Guardrail Installation at six locations along Baltimore-Washington Parkway from Riverdale Road to MD Route 32 Interchange;
Non-rush Hour Lane Closures - Expect Delays

Greenbelt, MD – The National Park Service (NPS) will start installing median barriers at six locations along Baltimore-Washington Parkway between Riverdale Road and MD route 32 interchange on Wednesday, July 22, beginning at 9:00 p.m.
This work will result in temporary lane closures for both northbound and southbound traffic on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.
Work will be performed on one side of the parkway at a time.
Lane closures for northbound traffic will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Lane closures for southbound traffic will occur between 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Delays may be expected when construction crews work between 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and between 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
During construction, one lane will remain open at all times.
All travel lanes both north and southbound will remain open during rush hours.
Signs and Variable Message Boards will be posted to alert motorists of these upcoming closures.
The final completion date for this work is scheduled for October 2009.
Inclement weather may require adjustments to the schedule.
The NPS will continue to inform the public and the media of any adjustments in the work schedule.
Every effort is being made to minimize traffic delays and accomplish the work in a timely manner.
