Sharing my watchdog know-how

I paid a visit to the Space Operations Center at NASA Headquarters, where agency leaders keep up on what’s happening aboard the International Space Station.

At NASA Headquarters in Washington, I visited the Space Operations Center, or SOC, and saw a live feed of what my future teammates were up to! The SOC (we say it like “sock”) is for “situational awareness.” That’s why the walls are covered with TV screens. People at HQ use to monitor launches to the space station, spacewalks, docking and undocking operations, and more. I don’t have a spot on the space station daily schedule yet, but I did get a name plate on this big table! To my friends at HQ, keep an eye out for all my microgravity adventures if you’re ever in the SOC! (Credit: Katharine Wall)
