The Logo Design Contest
The '78 Mile Challenge logo is in need of an update, and we need your help!
The logo design contest is your opportunity to put your design skills on display. Create a logo and submit it to us by March 20, 2024. Beginning on April 4, 2024 the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite designs on Facebook. The logo design that receives the most votes will be declared the winner, and the winning design will be printed on all of the swag that's presented to the finishers of the '78 Mile Challenge in 2024.
The winner will be announced on April 21, 2024.
Like any good contest, there are a few rules and requirements. Please read the following items carefully to make sure that your design has all the required elements.
Must be in one the following image file formats: jpg/jpeg, png, tiff, pdf, psd, svg, eps, or ai
Must be 5 inches by 5 inches in dimension and have a resolution of at least 300 dots-per-inch (dpi)

The fine print:
The National Park Service and its assigns have the right to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, distribute or display and use submissions, in whole or in part, for government and non-government purposes, in any manner or media (whether now existing or created in the future), in perpetuity, and in all languages throughout the world. Use of this material shall include, but not be limited to, audiovisual programs, museum exhibits, websites, publications, product artwork, project publicity, and media use. Additionally, you waive the right to inspect or approve any use of the material and any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the material. When possible, credit will be given to the artist. You will retain non-exclusive rights to your artwork and may continue to use it in any way you wish.
In summary, you still own your art, but by entering the contest you grant Valley Forge NHP and its partners the right to use the artwork to promote the ’78 Mile Challenge. We will credit you whenever possible!

You can download one of the templates below in order to help meet some of the design specifications. The digital template is an .ai file set to the correct dimensions and resolution and can be used by many design software programs. The printable template is designed to be downloaded and printed, and used for drawing, painting, and other physical media.

What is the '78 Mile Challenge?
The ’78 Mile Challenge is a Healthy Parks Healthy People program that encourages and rewards outdoor recreation at Valley Forge National Historical Park. Participants must complete 78 miles of walking, running, hiking, biking, and/or paddling within the park during a given time period, typically late April through October.
