Audio Description

Audio descriptions of outdoor informational panels and of buildings are on the NPS App and can be read aloud with a screen reader. There is no audio description of exhibits inside the mansion, the museum, or slave quarters.

An audio-described version of the video the the south slave quarters smokehouse is available online.

Braille

The park brochure is available in braille. You can download the braille ready file (.brf) to print at home or get a copy of the at the entrance to the mansion.

 

An orientation map by the flower garden has braille labels.

Hands-on Experiences

Outdoor information panels around Arlington House have tactile elements, some with braille labels, including relief maps and reproductions of artifacts.

In the north slave quarters museum exhibit, there is a tactile layout of the north slave quarters with braille labels.
