Find out how the flags carried at Appomattox became symbols to the men who fought through the course of the war. The flags came to represent not only the suffering of war, great personal hardship, the loss of friends, family, and for some property; they also represented the honor, integrity and fortitude of sticking to a cause through times of tribulation.
