Office of the SuperintendentThe Office of the Superintendent is located within the park at park headquarters. This office has the ultimate responsibility for managing the four areas of the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site and a staff 10-12 National Park Service employees. The Superintendent oversees the park budget, concessions and commercial services, and a safety program, all while cooperating with park partners and local communities. AdministrationThe office of Administration manages important behind the scenes programs like budget, contracting, human resources, property management, procurement, telecommunications, and information technology. While their work is not often noticed directly by park visitors, it impacts park operations and NPS employees every day. The administration functions at Andrew Johnson NHS are managed at park headquarters. Facilities ManagementFacilities Management oversees the operation of maintaining buildings, grounds, roads, utilities, and the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. They ensure public safety in facilities and manage facility rehabilitation and improvement projects throughout the park. Their work is vital to ensure the park functions properly and that visitors enjoy their experience while they are here. Interpretation & Visitor ServicesStaff in this division are the bridge between visitors and the park. These rangers work in the visitor center and provide orientation, tours, and programs. They write and design posts to engage with the public through social media. They connect young visitors through Junior Ranger and education programs. Cultural Resource DivisionThis office is responsible for the management of the park's artifacts, archives, historic structures, and Section 106 compliance to ensure that no activities negatively impact the resources. The park museum collections at Andrew Johnson NHS consists of 7,000 plus artifacts. |
