Park supporters preserve and protect our national heritage, special places, and American history. Visitors, friends, and organizations all contribute to the success of Andrew Johnson National Historic Site and National Cemetery. Whether it's through Volunteers-in-Parks, a cooperating association such as America's National Parks, or our park friend's group, there are many ways to share your commitment, expertise, and resources.
The Friends of the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site, the official friend’s group of the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site, was founded in 1982 by the great-granddaughter of President Johnson, Margaret Johnson Patterson Bartlett. The non-profit Association supports programs of the site, believing that we can learn from the past as we educate ourselves and future generations. Their mission is based on the words of Governor Andrew Johnson in 1853: “Can there be nothing done to advance the great cause of education?”
For ways to support park programs through the Andrew Johnson Heritage Association, please contact them via their website.
