At Amistad, the Access Pass reduces camping and lake use fees by 50%.![]() Access PassU.S. citizens or permanent residents, who are permanently disabled, are eligible for the Interagency Access Pass. This free, lifetime admission pass is valid at federal sites managed by National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Forest Service, Army Corps of Engineers, and Bureau of Reclamation. These passes can be obtained at the Visitor Center with valid identification and documentation of a permanent disability. At Amistad National Recreation Area, Access Pass holders can get half-price discounts on their camping fees and lake use passes, while other locations may provide free entrance or other discounts to the pass-holder. Boat Ramp Parking PermitsA boat ramp parking permit allows persons with special physical needs to park directly on the edge of the ramp closer to the dock at Diablo East, Rough Canyon, and Pecos during low water levels. The number of parking spaces on the boat ramps changes with the overall water level. These spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis to individuals with disabilities traveling in vehicles displaying the permit and placard or plate designating disability. Please note: Since this parking is on the exposed portion of the boat ramp, it is not graded to ADA standard and is very steep. Boat ramp parking is only provided as a courtesy to reduce the distance one has to travel to and from the dock or a boat when the water level is low and is reserved for those who need it most. The Amistad National Recreation Area Visitor Center issues parking permits for these spaces to individuals to whom a state-issued placard or license plate bearing the International Symbol of Access (ISA) or other disability marker has been issued. The permit must be displayed on the vehicle in addtion to the placard or license plates bearing the ISA.
