Lake Meredith National Recreation Area and Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument is recruiting volunteers to work with Rangers on conservation projects and educational programming. VIPs (Volunteers-in-Parks) are invaluable to the National Park Service and play an important role in visitor experiences. Prospective volunteers from all backgrounds and life experiences are welcomed and encouraged to share their unique skills and talents to enrich park programs. From the eager-to-learn student to the retired professional Lake Meredith NRA and Alibates Flint Quarries NM has a volunteer opportunity for everyone. Volunteering at the parks is a fun way to gain professional experiences, meet new people, fulfill service project hours, learn new skills, get out of the house, and support your National Park. The following positions are being recruited: Customer Service Volunteer, consisting of meeting and greeting visitors to the park, providing information, answering phone calls while working at the front desk at Park Headquarters. Native Garden Volunteer works with the natural and native landscape garden at Alibates Visitor Center. Program Volunteer actively participates as a guide in the Interpretive and Education Division by providing guided tours as assisting with educational program opportunities for visitors to the park. Project Volunteer, assist with outside and inside projects such as trail maintenance for the self-guiding trails, and the installation of pavers on the garden trail at the Alibates Visitor Center. Volunteers will receive training and uniforms will be provided.
