The legislation to provide for the preservation, protection, interpretation, and scientific study of Alibates flint deposits associated with the activities and cultural resources of the indigenous people was signed into law on August 31, 1965. Join us for a day of special guided hikes, demonstrations and programs that will focus on the history of the National Monument. Learn about the Antelope Creek people during a hike to the village ruins. Hear the ancient stories and try your hand with ancient weapons. Meet one of the first park rangers at Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument and listen to his tales of the early days. Partake in a piece of anniversary cake. All programs are free of charge.
