The Aleutian Islands World War II National Historical Area is a National Park Service (NPS) affiliated area. Affiliated areas are unique NPS units that are often managed jointly with another organization; in this case, the Aleutian Islands WWII National Historic Area is managed by the Ounalashka Corporation with technical assistance from the NPS.
