2025 Tour Season

The 2025 tour season will begin Thursday, June 5. Tours of the historic homes will be available Thursdays through Sundays. Guided tour reservations are available at the Visitor Center on a first-come, first-served basis. Schedule and availability are subject to change.

The address for the Visitor Center is 1250 Hancock St., Quincy, MA 02169. Starting June 5, the Visitor Center will open Thursdays through Sundays 9am to 5pm

Revolutionary Farm

Learn more about the American Revolution through the eyes of the Adamses and their community at the Adams Farm at Penn's Hill. Enjoy a self-guided tour of the John Adams and John Quincy Adams Birthplaces at your own pace, with park rangers on hand to answer questions and provide information.

Self-guided access is available Thursdays and Saturdays starting June 5, as staffing and weather permit, at the following times:
  • 9:30 am - 11:00 am
  • 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Presidents at Peace field

Guided tour of the Old House at Peace field and the Stone Library, focusing on the lives and legacies of the first two "Presidential" generations of the Adams family to live in the house, John and Abigail Adams as well as John Quincy and Louisa Catherine Adams. This tour is 30 minutes in length and does NOT include the Adams Farm at Penn’s Hill (the John Adams and John Quincy Adams Birthplaces).

Presidents at Peace field Tours are available Fridays and Sundays starting June 5, as staffing and weather permit, at the following times:

Access into the historic homes available during our tour season. Click here for more details about our operating hours and seasons.
  • You must have a daily park entrance pass, an annual park entrance pass, or a valid America the Beautiful—the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass to enter the park’s historic buildings. Entrance passes can be purchased in-person at the Visitor Center or online at Recreation.gov. America the Beautiful—the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass may be purchased at the Visitor Center.
  • Revolutionary Farm self-guided tours of the Adams Farm at Penn's Hill do not require reservations. Self-guided access to the Adams Farm at Penn's Hill (John Adams and John Quincy Adams Birthplaces) is dependent on staff availability and weather conditions. The Old House at Peace field and Stone Library are not available for self-guided tours.
  • Reservations are required for the 30-minute tour Presidents at Peace field Tour of the Old House at Peace field and the Stone Library. Guided tour reservations are available on the day of your visit in-person at the visitor center. Entrance passes must be purchased in addition to tour reservations.
  • Backpacks and bags larger than 9" x 11" x 5" are not permitted in the historic homes. Be advised that the park does not have storage lockers for these items and we recommend they be left in your vehicle or at your hotel. Bags may not be left unattended on park grounds. Anyone carrying a backpack or a bag larger than 9" x 11" x 5" will not be permitted in the historic homes.
  • Food, drinks, including water, and chewing gum are not permitted in the historic homes.
  • The only public restrooms available are located at the Visitor Center.
  • The houses are old and were built as family homes, not tourist attractions, and some rooms have limited space. For the protection of the historic homes and artifacts, and quality of the visitor experience, the number of people in the building at once is limited.
  • Motorized chairs and assistance vehicles are not permitted in the historic houses. The park provides non-motorized wheelchairs for loan. The first floor of the Old House at Peace field has limited wheelchair access. The park has a photograph album and guidebook available for viewing at the Old House. The interior of the Old House is dimly lit and the second floor of the Old House at Peace field is accessible via stairs only. The John Adams and John Quincy Adams Birthplaces are not accessible by wheelchair.
  • At this time, in-park transportation is not available. You need to plan transportation to your tour location.
  • Tours, programs, and special events may be modified or cancelled for visitor safety and adverse weather conditions or due to staff availability.
