Accessibility at Acadia: Need To Know

The park goes beyond physical access by addressing the functional needs of visitors with mobility, sensory, and cognitive disabilities. This guide strives to reduce barriers by supporting staff and partners with clear guidance to ensure that all visitors have meaningful opportunities to experience the park’s natural and cultural resources.

Access Pass

US citizens or permanent residents who are permanently disabled may be eligible for the Interagency Access Pass. This free, lifetime admission pass is valid at National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, US Fish and Wildlife Service, US Forest Service, US Army Corps of Engineers, and Bureau of Reclamation sites.

Where can visitors get an Access Pass?

  • Available year-round at the main Entrance Station along the Park Loop Road and seasonally at all staffed fee stations.
  • Available online through Recreation.gov (Shipping fee applies for a physical pass)
  • The Access Pass is not available from automated fee machines.
