Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park Announces Spring Programming Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park will begin spring programming the first weekend in April for the Birthplace and the Boyhood Home: Knob Creek Farm. On April 5th staff will begin offering two guided tours every Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Birthplace. These ranger-led tours offer visitors a deeper insight into the Lincoln family’s frontier years in Kentucky and how the daily struggles for survival helped shape the character of our future president. These tours are free and open to the public. Beginning April 5, 2008, the park will begin staffing the Boyhood Home: Knob Creek every Saturday and Sunday between 8:30 am and 4:30 PM. Activities planned for this unit include a volunteer clean up day, April 5th, a wildflower/bird hike April 12th and national junior ranger day activities April 26th. The site’s summer programming will begin Memorial Day and continue through Labor Day. Details for the summer schedule of events and programs will be released shortly. |
