Due to continued severe weather as part of a multi-day storm outbreak, resulting in widespread flooding, and other hazardous conditions, the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park is updating current closures to ensure safety to all visitors and staff, as well as the protection of resources.
The Birthplace Unit will open daily, including the Birthplace Visitor Center. The Memorial Building, the Sinking Spring, Picnic Area, accessible boardwalk and all trails will remain closed.
The Boyhood Home Unit will remain closed, to include the Knob Creek Tavern and all trails.
Closures will be in place until conditions allow for staff to safely reopen these areas and visitor services can safely resume.
