The Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park is holding volunteer training for those who would like to help out at the park. Our volunteers help us in many ways: staffing the information desk and Memorial Building, giving tours, researching archives, living history programs, weeding and helping maintain the grounds, education outreach, and more! You will meet visitors from all over the world as they come to learn about Abraham Lincoln. Seating is limited (only 8 seats available per class), so please RSVP in person or call 270-358-3137 to save your spot. Prospective volunteers only need to attend one of the orientation training classes listed below. What: Volunteer Training When: Monday, October 21, 2019, 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.Eastern Time Friday, November 8, 2019, 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time Tuesday, December 10, 2019, 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time Who: Anyone! Students are welcome, but kids under 16 must volunteer with a parent. Prospective volunteers will learn about the National Park Service's history and about the history and formation of the park. The training will include a tour of the park grounds and facilities.
