Copper Center, AlaskaA National Public Lands Day clean-up event will be held on Saturday, August 3, in Chitina, Alaska, across the Copper River bridge on the north side where the fish wheels are located.Come join us and help clean-up debris and trash along the Copper River.

Clean-up will consist of burning scrap wood, recycling and picking up trash that has accumulated over the years.Sign-up begins at 9:30am in the sign-up tent just across the bridge on the north side. A safety briefing is at 10:00am and clean-up begins at 10:30.Please bring the following personal protective equipment: boots, leather gloves, sunglasses/safety glasses, rain jacket and a water bottle. The first 100 volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and water bottle!

Lunch will be provided for all registered volunteers at the Chitina Wayside (lunch voucher received at sign-up).

Clean-up efforts will end at 3:00pm

The following partners have made this year's Public Lands Day possible: Ahtna Incorporated, Bureau of Land Management, Chitina Corporation, Chitina Hotel, Copper Basin Sanitation, Copper Country Alliance, Copper River Watershed Project, Native Village of Chitina, State of Alaska Department of Fish and Game, State of Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Wrangell Institute for Science and Environment and Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Preserve.
