Each state that participated in the Campaign and Siege of Vicksburg will be recognized by reading a proclamation or letter from the governor of the state, honoring the Soldiers, Sailors and Marines that fought at Vicksburg 150 years ago. There will also be a wreath placed at the memorial which will stay in place through July 4, 2013, 150 years from the day Vicksburg surrendered. A special sign will also be located at each memorial with information about the units that fought during the campaign. A short ceremony will take place at 10:00 AM at the following respective monuments. The wreaths are being provided by the Friends of Vicksburg National Military Park and Campaign.
