The Maryland State Memorial is located outside of Vicksburg National Military Park on former park property in the City of Vicksburg. It is situated on south Confederate Avenue approximately 0.2 miles south of the Mulvihill Street intersection. The memorial consists of a bronze tablet mounted on a granite pedestal, commemorating the 3d Maryland Battery under the command of Ferdinand O. Claiborne. |

Did You Know?
The Union siege lines and Confederate defensive lines were marked during the first decade of the 20th century by many of the veterans who fought at Vicksburg, thus making Vicksburg National Military Park one of the most accurately marked military parks in the world.
