Iron tablets located on Confederate Avenue at the Stockade Redan (Tour Stop #10), on Old Jackson Road east of Confederate Avenue, at the 3d Louisiana Redan and Great Redoubt. At the Battle of Chickasaw Bayou, this unit was attached to Brig. Gen. Louis Hèbert’s Brigade of Maj. Gen. Dabney H. Maury’s Division, Maj. Genl's. Martin Luther Smith’s (until 30 Dec 1862) and Carter L. Steven’s 2d Military District in Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton’s Department of Mississippi and East Louisiana, and commanded by Capt. William M. Hogg.

The regiment was later assigned to Brig. Gen. Louis Hèbert’s Brigade of Maj. Gen. John H. Forney’s Division, Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton’s Army of Vicksburg and was commanded by Capt. William M. Hogg, Lt. Christopher C. Scott and Lt. Robert N. Cotten. [Refer to Edwin Bearss’ The Vicksburg Campaign, Volume I, page 226 and Volume III, pages 783, 870, and 965.]
